The Jammu and Kashmir Police apprehended a man with an illegal revolver on Saturday in Samba district. The arrest of Munna Singh, a resident of Sohal village, took place when law enforcement officials observed him behaving suspiciously near JDA Colony.

Singh was making his way from Data Talab towards Kikri Morh when the police noticed him. Observing Singh’s unusual behavior, officers initiated a routine patrol in the Bari Brahmana area. Upon seeing the police team, Singh allegedly attempted to escape.

However, the quick response from the police ensured his prompt capture. During a detailed search, authorities uncovered an illegal revolver in Singh’s possession. Significantly, he could not furnish any valid license or legal documentation authorizing him to carry the firearm.

In light of this incident, a case has been registered against Singh under the relevant sections of the Arms Act at the Bari Brahmana police station. Law enforcement officials have launched further investigations into the matter to determine whether Singh is linked to any other criminal activities in the area.

Officials emphasized the importance of the active policing in curbing illegal arms trade and the potential dangers posed by unlicensed firearms in society. Authorities are committed to addressing such threats and maintaining public safety.
