The Union Cabinet on Wednesday condemned the November 10 car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort, describing it as a “heinous terrorist incident”. The Cabinet vowed to bring the perpetrators, their collaborators, and those sponsoring the attack to justice.

Chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Cabinet passed a resolution expressing profound grief over the loss of lives in this tragic incident, observing two minutes of silence in memory of the victims.

“The country has witnessed a heinous terrorist incident perpetrated by anti-national forces through a car explosion near Red Fort on November 10,” Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated while reading out the resolution. The attack shocked the nation and raised significant concerns about security.

The Cabinet extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, wishing a speedy recovery to those injured. It also appreciated the swift actions of medical teams and emergency responders who provided immediate assistance to victims.

Calling the blast a “dastardly and cowardly act,” the Cabinet reaffirmed India’s zero-tolerance stance towards terrorism in all forms. It further acknowledged the messages of solidarity received from governments worldwide, reflecting a united front against terrorism.

Commending the timely and coordinated response of security agencies and citizens, the government asserted it is monitoring the situation closely, directing investigators to pursue the case with “utmost urgency and professionalism.” Such decisive action illustrates the government’s commitment to maintaining national security.

As investigations continue, the Cabinet reiterated its resolve. The resolution concluded that the government remains steadfast in safeguarding the lives and well-being of citizens, demonstrating its dedication to combatting terrorism.
