Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha inaugurated the new Centre of Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital in Qamarwari, Srinagar, today. This facility embodies the commitment to enhancing healthcare access for all residents of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Lieutenant Governor urged the hospital and medical professionals to ensure that healthcare remains accessible and affordable. He emphasized the importance of connecting specialists with patients residing in rural and remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir.

“In the last decade, modern technologies have transformed the eye care field significantly, delivering quicker and more precise diagnoses along with targeted treatments,” noted Sinha. He highlighted that these advancements have notably increased access to care in the health sector, resulting in more personalized treatment for patients.

AI-powered systems now allow doctors to detect early signs of diseases and other eye issues effectively. The Lieutenant Governor encouraged Dr. Agarwals Eye Centre and similar establishments to leverage these innovations, ensuring the people of Jammu and Kashmir receive the same quality of treatment available in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai.

During his address, Sinha reflected on the landmark transformation of Jammu Kashmir’s healthcare sector over recent years. He credited the ongoing reforms to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, underlining a commitment to guarantee every citizen’s access to quality healthcare.

Furthermore, he elaborated on the rapid growth of both public and private healthcare infrastructure as a pathway toward a healthier and more prosperous future for the region. “We are dedicated to a holistic healthcare approach that prioritizes the needs of every individual,” Sinha added.

The Lieutenant Governor called for Dr. Agarwals Eye Centre and similar institutions to host free eye check-up camps across Jammu and Kashmir, particularly targeting rural and border areas. He explained that such initiatives should embrace the spirit of selfless service and extend healthcare reach.

For greater accessibility, Sinha proposed utilizing telemedicine, virtual consultations, and digital examinations to serve people effectively. This approach ensures that modern healthcare solutions reach everyone, regardless of their geographical location.

Key figures attending the inauguration included Dr. Ashar Agarwal, Chief Business Officer of Dr. Agarwals Group of Eye Hospitals; Dr. Atif Ali Mir, Head of Clinical Services at Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital, Srinagar, along with the hospital’s doctors and staff.

Government officials present at the event included Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Secretary of the Science & Technology Department; Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Secretary for Health and Medical Education; and Shri Anshul Garg, Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir.
