Transfusion Medicine Department, GMC Udhampur Organizes CME to Update Healthcare Professionals

The Department of Transfusion Medicine at Government Medical College (GMC) Udhampur today hosted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme aimed at educating healthcare professionals on the latest best practices in Transfusion Medicine.

The CME was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Mrityunjay, Principal of GMC Udhampur, and was attended by over 100 delegates, including doctors, nurses, and technicians from various healthcare institutions across the region. The event provided a platform for healthcare professionals to deepen their knowledge of transfusion medicine and enhance patient care practices.

Insights from Renowned Experts
Several prominent experts in the field were part of the CME, with Dr. T. R. Raina, former Head of the Blood Bank at GMC Jammu, delivering a key lecture. Dr. Raina emphasized the importance of safe blood transfusion practices and discussed how these practices significantly impact patient outcomes. His session, along with other expert talks, provided valuable insights into the critical role of Transfusion Medicine in modern healthcare.

Dr. Lubna Naseer, Head of the Department of Transfusion Medicine at GMC Udhampur, expressed her gratitude for the successful completion of the CME programme. “The CME programme was a huge success, and we are grateful to our esteemed faculty members and participants for making it a productive and engaging event,” she said.
