Supreme Court Issues Four Separate Judgments on AMU’s Minority Status Case

New Delhi, Nov 8: A seven-judge Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court delivered four separate judgments on Friday regarding the minority status of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud, leading the bench, announced that the judgments included a majority opinion and three dissenting views. The majority opinion was authored by CJI Chandrachud, representing himself and Justices Sanjiv Khanna, J B Pardiwala, and Manoj Misra. Meanwhile, dissenting judgments were penned individually by Justices Surya Kant, Dipankar Datta, and Satish Chandra Sharma.

The verdict pronouncement is currently ongoing, with further details anticipated as the judgments are fully delivered.
