In a decisive move against drug trafficking, Srinagar Police attached immovable property valued at approximately ₹1.20 crore belonging to notorious drug peddler Nisar Ahmad Sheikh on Tuesday. This operation is part of the ongoing 100 Days Campaign under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, launched to combat drug abuse in the region.

The police initiated this action under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The attachment occurred following investigations linked to FIR No. 61/2019, which recorded offenses under Sections 8 and 20 of the NDPS Act.

The attached assets include a fully renovated three-storey residential house, a separate single-storey concrete kitchen block equipped with three washrooms, and additional land measuring 09 marlas. Authorities confirmed that these properties were acquired through proceeds of illicit drug trafficking, illustrating the extent of criminal activities impacting the community.

Nisar Ahmad Sheikh, the owner, resides in Kani Dewar, Sheikh Mohallah, Hawal area of Srinagar. Investigations revealed that Sheikh utilized his drug trafficking profits to fund his assets, prompting law enforcement to act decisively.

This operation highlights the unwavering commitment of Srinagar Police to dismantling the financial networks that support drug trafficking. By targeting the assets of drug peddlers, authorities aim to strike at the root of the narcotics trade in the region and curtail its influence.

According to officials, such decisive actions underscore the commitment to eradicate the menace of narcotics from society. The campaign has gained traction, with law enforcement agencies encouraging citizens to assist by reporting any information related to drug abuse or trafficking.

Police officials assert that operational efforts will intensify, aiming to address the surge in drug-related crimes. They emphasized the importance of community engagement in supporting these initiatives to ensure a safer future.

Under the framework of the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, the current operation reflects a broader strategy to reclaim the state from the clutches of narcotics. Officials report on ongoing investigations and proactive measures planned for the coming weeks as part of this campaign.

As the fight against drug peddling continues, Srinagar Police urges individuals to come forward with information that may assist in their efforts. Authorities state that the success of these operations relies significantly on public cooperation, vital to curtailing drug abuse and restoring community safety.
