KULGAM, SEPTEMBER 20: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo, inaugurated a newly constructed Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Devsar in Kulgam today, marking a significant step in expanding healthcare services in rural regions.
During the event, Itoo emphasized the importance of accessible healthcare facilities in remote areas, stating that the new PHC will greatly benefit local populations by providing essential medical services closer to their homes.
Also present were MLA Devsar Peerzada Feroz Ahmad, senior officials from the district administration and health department, and a large gathering of community members.
The inauguration aligns with the government’s pledge to enhance health infrastructure across Jammu and Kashmir. “We aim to ensure that no one remains deprived of basic medical facilities,” the Minister asserted.
Itoo highlighted various successful health initiatives implemented by the government, urging healthcare staff to serve with dedication and compassion. “Under Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s leadership, our commitment to transparency and accountability remains strong. We strive for holistic development across all regions of J&K,” she added.
Peerzada Feroz Ahmad remarked that the establishment of the PHC serves as a significant enhancement to healthcare services in the area. He expressed gratitude for the infrastructure developments and presented additional requests for the upgradation of local hospitals and schools.
Later in the day, Itoo took the time to interact with local residents, listening to their concerns and demands related to regional development. The Minister reassured them, stating, “Your genuine issues will be addressed promptly.”
This initiative underscores the government’s ongoing efforts to improve health services in rural and far-flung areas, ensuring increased access to quality healthcare for all residents.
