PM Modi Hails BJP’s Unbreakable Bond with Gujarat After Sweeping Local Body Elections

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence that Gujarat’s bond with the BJP is not only unbreakable but growing stronger with each passing day, following the party’s remarkable victory in the local body elections in his home state.

In a post on X, Modi thanked the people of Gujarat, calling the election result another triumph for the politics of development. “It is humbling how the people of Gujarat are time and again reposing their faith in us. These special blessings give us even more energy to work in service of the people,” he wrote.

Modi also lauded the tireless efforts of BJP workers, crediting them for the party’s outstanding performance on the ground, which he said was a significant factor in securing the victory.

The ruling BJP dominated the local body polls in Gujarat, winning the Junagadh Municipal Corporation (JMC) and capturing 60 municipalities out of 68. The party also triumphed in all three taluka panchayats, where voting took place on February 16.

This victory marks another milestone for the BJP, which managed to claim 15 municipalities from the Congress—an important achievement in a state where the saffron party has maintained electoral supremacy since its 2022 Assembly win and its victory in 25 of the 26 Lok Sabha seats in 2023.
