Manipur Fencers Shine at 68th National School Games, J&K Bags Silver in U-14 Boys Sabre

Manipur fencers delivered stellar performances as they claimed Gold medals in both the U-14 Boys Epee and Sabre events at the 68th National School Games being held at the University of Jammu’s Gymnasium Hall.

In the U-14 Boys Sabre team event, the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) team, consisting of Devkaran Singh, Parv Mahajan, Harnidh Singh, and Shivansh Sharma, earned a well-deserved Silver medal. Punjab took the Gold, while Maharashtra and Punjab shared the Bronze.


Maharashtra’s U-14 Girls Foil Team Triumphs

In the U-14 Girls Foil event, Maharashtra emerged as the Gold medalists, followed by Manipur, who took home the Silver. Gujarat and Delhi shared the Bronze in the category, adding to the diversity of medal winners across various states.

  • U-14 Boys Epee: Manipur claimed the Gold, with DAV College Managing Committee earning the Silver and Punjab and CBSE Welfare Sports Organisation sharing the Bronze.
  • U-14 Boys Sabre (Team Event): Jammu and Kashmir secured the Silver, with Punjab taking Gold.

Historic National School Games in Jammu

The ongoing 68th National School Games at University of Jammu is a historic event, with an impressive participation of over 4,000 athletes from across the country. The competition spans multiple disciplines including Judo, Fencing, Wushu, and Football, showcasing the exceptional sporting talent from all regions.

The medal winners were felicitated by Ved Prakash, Joint Director of Youth Services and Sports Jammu, who was joined by various other dignitaries at the event. The ongoing National School Games are expected to bring further excitement and achievements as athletes continue to compete for top honors in their respective categories.
