D Magesh Kumar, an IPS officer serving as the Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic North, in Greater Chennai, has been placed under suspension following a complaint of sexual harassment filed by a woman police constable. The constable alleged that the officer harassed her, prompting her to lodge the complaint with the Director General of Police (DGP).
The complaint has now been forwarded to the Internal Complaints Committee on Sexual Harassment for further investigation and appropriate action.
A senior police official confirmed the suspension and stated that the matter is being taken seriously and will be dealt with according to the law. Further inquiries are underway.
