Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday emphasized that India’s global influence has always stemmed from its values of compassion and friendship rather than force or conquest. He was speaking at the inauguration of the Guru Gorakshanath Gyansthali in Dumariyaganj, located in Uttar Pradesh’s Siddharthnagar district.

Highlighting the historical significance of the region, the Chief Minister noted that Siddharthnagar is where Prince Siddhartha spent his early years before becoming Gautam Buddha.
“Buddhism attracted the world not with the sword, but through its profound message of compassion and peace,” Adityanath remarked.

“History stands witness to the fact that India has never ruled through power or violence. Despite our strength and intelligence, India has never imposed dominance on others, nor will it accept being dominated by others,” he added.

Speaking about the Guru Gorakshanath Gyansthali, Adityanath said the institution reflects India’s age-old tradition of revering knowledge and learning. The inaugural session has begun with 150 registered students, he said, adding that the center would promote holistic education rooted in Indian values.

The Chief Minister also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, under which, he claimed, the country has been undergoing transformation across all sectors.
“India, once seen as lagging behind, is now the fifth-largest economy in the world and is on track to become the third-largest economic superpower,” Adityanath stated confidently.

He further criticized the pre-2014 political environment, alleging that “some people used to claim that Ram and Krishna were myths, and considered it their right to insult India’s traditions.”
“Today, under PM Modi, there’s a renewed balance between heritage and development, which is essential for the nation’s growth,” he said.

Referring to the rejuvenation of major religious centers, Adityanath pointed to the transformation of Kashi, Mathura-Vrindavan, and Prayagraj as examples of India embracing its spiritual and cultural roots while advancing economically and technologically.

The event at Dumariyaganj marks another milestone in the state’s educational and cultural revival, aligning with the broader vision of combining knowledge, tradition, and development.
