Doda, November 08, 2025: Doda Police swiftly cracked a motorcycle theft case within 48 hours, arresting two suspects. The quick action came after a complaint from the victim, Omair Ullah Wani, regarding the theft of his bike.

On November 5, 2025, Wani reported that his motorcycle, bearing registration number JK06A-6107, went missing from the Jathi area. Police registered the case under FIR No. 37/2025 at Police Station Assar, initiating a prompt investigation as per the direction of SSP Doda, Shri Sandeep Mehta (JKPS).

A special team, led by PSI Shivam Dev Singh, formed to tackle this urgent situation, included the expertise of DySP DAR Doda and SHO Police Station Assar. Their coordinated efforts led to the detention of two suspects in the early hours of November 6.

During thorough questioning, the suspects confessed to stealing the motorcycle during the intervening night of October 26, 2025. Authorities recovered the stolen vehicle from them.

The suspects are identified as Mohd Tariq @ Baffer, a notorious habitual offender, and Munish Kumar. Baffer, with a history of crimes, including theft and drug-related offenses, has multiple FIRs registered against him across several states.

Notably, Baffer had long evaded law enforcement, wanted in various districts like Reasi, Udhampur, and Himachal Pradesh for different offenses under IPC and NDPS Act. His arrest marks a significant development in efforts to combat repeat offenders in the region.

“Doda Police is committed to firm action against criminal elements involved in theft and other unlawful activities,” SSP Mehta stated. He added that “swift investigation and timely action remain our top priorities to ensure the safety of citizens.”

This successful operation underscores Doda Police’s determination to maintain public safety and order. With the rapid resolution of this case, community members express renewed faith in law enforcement’s capacity to handle crime effectively. The police team’s dedication reflects their goal of creating a secure environment for all residents.

The Doda Police’s recent success showcases their proactive approach in addressing crime and highlights their readiness to respond swiftly to threats against community safety. Such efforts not only serve to apprehend criminals but also instill confidence in the community, encouraging them to report crimes immediately.

As the police continue their efforts to improve local safety, the message remains clear: Doda will not tolerate criminal activities.
