DC oversees rescue operation after car plunges in Chenab near Doda

DODA, DECEMBER 01: Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh, accompanied by SSP Doda, Sandeep Kumar Mehta, and other officers, including SDPO, NDRF and SDRF, today visited the Kandhote-Shiva Pul area to oversee rescue operation launched after a tragic car accident yesterday. The vehicle reportedly plunged into the Chenab River, resulting in one fatality, with two individuals still missing. Rescue teams, including personnel from SDRF, NDRF, Ababeel NGO, local volunteers, and Quick Response Teams, are working tirelessly to locate the missing individuals. Despite challenging conditions, the operation continues with urgency and determination. During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner and SSP also inspected the roadside conditions at Kandhote-Shiva Pul to assess safety measures and identify potential improvements to prevent such incidents in the future. The district administration Doda has assured all necessary support to the rescue teams
