Chief Justice Inaugurates Lawyers Chambers at Katra Court Complex

In a significant development for the legal community in Jammu & Kashmir, Chief Justice Tashi Rabstan of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh today inaugurated the new Lawyers Chambers at the Court Complex, Katra. The event, attended by Justice Mohd Akram Choudhary, the Administrative Judge for Reasi district, marks an important step towards strengthening the judicial infrastructure in the region.

Strengthening the Bench and Bar Relationship

Speaking at the event, Chief Justice Tashi Rabstan highlighted the crucial role of both the Bench and the Bar in fostering public trust in the judicial system. He emphasized that people approach the courts with high expectations, considering them the “Temple of Justice” where fair decisions should be made. The Chief Justice further stressed the importance of the Lawyers Chambers in providing essential legal services and serving as a platform for young, aspiring advocates to build successful careers.

Focus on Infrastructure and Maintenance

During his interaction with members of the Bar and Bench, the Chief Justice emphasized the need for proper maintenance of both the court facilities and the newly inaugurated lawyers’ chambers. He also pointed out the importance of maintaining the road leading to Katra Court for better access.

Boosting Morale and Talent Attraction

In his speech, the Chief Justice noted that providing equal infrastructure for the Bar would not only boost the morale of legal professionals but also attract talented individuals to join the legal profession. He emphasized that both the Bar and Bench are integral parts of the justice delivery system, working together to ensure fairness and integrity in the courts.

Inspection and Directions for Further Streamlining

Following the inauguration, the Chief Justice conducted a thorough inspection of various sections of the Court Complex. During the visit, he issued on-the-spot directions aimed at improving the efficiency and functionality of the court complex.

Sharma, Principal Secretary to the Chief Justice, Suresh Chander Katal, Principal District and Sessions Judge Reasi, Geeta Kumari, CJM Reasi, Pooja Gupta, Secretary DLSA Reasi, Sidhant Vaid, Sub-Judge Katra, Vishal Bharti, Munsiff Katra, and the President and members of the Bar Association of Reasi and Katra.

This inauguration of the Lawyers Chambers is expected to be a milestone in the continued development of the judicial infrastructure in Jammu & Kashmir, enhancing the capacity to serve the public and provide justice efficiently.
