PM Modi Hails Bodo Community’s Shift from Violence to Peace
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday praised the people of the Bodo community for rejecting violence and choosing the path of peace following the landmark Bodo Peace Accord of 2020. In his address at the inaugural ceremony of the first Bodoland Mahotsav, Modi highlighted how areas in Assam, once used as hideouts for insurgents, are now becoming catalysts for the region’s growth and development.

Bodoland Region Witnesses New Wave of Growth
During the event, Modi emphasized that the Bodoland region has experienced a “new wave of growth” since the signing of the peace accord. He noted that after enduring decades of violence and bloodshed, the Bodo community is now celebrating a festival for the first time in many years, marking a significant shift towards peace and prosperity.

A Festival After Decades of Struggle
“You have scripted new history,” Prime Minister Modi told the large crowd of people from the Bodo community gathered at the SAI Indira Gandhi Sports Complex. The community, which had long faced the challenges of insurgency and unrest, is now turning the page and embracing a future filled with promise and potential.

Celebrating Bodo Culture Through Folk Dance
As part of the celebrations, the Prime Minister witnessed a vibrant folk dance performed by a large group of artists, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Bodo community. The event was not just a political milestone but a cultural celebration of the community’s resilience and unity.


The Prime Minister’s remarks underscored the positive transformation taking place in Bodoland, highlighting the importance of peace agreements in paving the way for economic and social growth in the region.
