Dengue Cases Rise to 6,128 in Jammu and Kashmir; 60 New Cases Reported

Jammu and Kashmir Sees Surge in Dengue Cases
A total of 60 new dengue cases have been reported across Jammu and Kashmir, raising the number of confirmed cases to 6,128 this year. Health officials confirmed the latest cases, with the majority of new infections reported from Jammu district.

Jammu District Leads with 3,718 Cases
In Jammu district, 41 new dengue cases were recorded yesterday, bringing the district’s total to 3,718 cases. Health officials have noted that over 90% of these cases have been reported from urban areas, specifically the municipal regions, pointing to the growing urban spread of the vector-borne disease.

Dengue Cases Across Other Districts
Apart from Jammu, the following districts have reported new cases:

  • Kathua: 10 new cases, bringing the total to 592.
  • Udhampur: 5 new cases, raising the total to 322.
  • Samba: 2 new cases, bringing the total to 636.
  • Ramban: 1 new case, with the total now at 69.

Case Breakdown Across Jammu and Kashmir
As of now, the dengue case distribution across districts is as follows:

  • Samba: 636 cases
  • Kathua: 592 cases
  • Udhampur: 322 cases
  • Reasi: 287 cases
  • Rajouri: 184 cases
  • Doda: 169 cases
  • Poonch: 69 cases
  • Ramban: 69 cases
  • Kishtwar: 20 cases

Kashmir Region and Out-of-State Cases
Additionally, 22 dengue cases have been reported from the Kashmir region, along with 40 cases recorded in people who had traveled from other states and Union Territories.

31,910 Tests Conducted; One Fatality Recorded
To date, a total of 31,910 patients have been tested for dengue across the Union Territory, with 6,128 testing positive. Despite the rising number of infections, health officials reported only one death due to dengue, which suggests that the management of severe cases has been relatively effective.

Details of the Latest Cases
Of the 60 new cases reported yesterday, 53 were adults (26 males and 27 females), and 7 were children (4 males and 3 females). As of now, 493 patients have been hospitalized across various hospitals in the Union Territory due to dengue complications. 403 patients have recovered and been discharged, while 78 patients remain under treatment.
