Former Ministers Ghulam Mohammad Saroori and Abdul Majeed Wani called on Manoj Sinha on Sunday and projected a range of developmental issues concerning the districts of Doda and Kishtwar.

During the meeting, the former ministers sought strengthening of healthcare infrastructure in the Chenab region and urged the establishment of a Government Women’s Degree College in Doda and a Government Medical College in Kishtwar.

They also requested the early construction of the Singhpora–Vailoo Tunnel and Sudhmahadev Tunnel to improve road connectivity and facilitate economic development in the region.

Highlighting the need for relief and rehabilitation, the leaders urged the administration to provide adequate assistance to families affected by cloudbursts and flash floods.

Among other demands, they sought sanctioning of the Naigarh Tunnel project, promotion of tourism in the Chenab Valley, constitution of the Chenab Hill Development Council, and a special recruitment drive in the Jammu and Kashmir Police to provide employment opportunities for local youth.

The Lieutenant Governor gave a patient hearing to the issues projected during the meeting.
