In a significant push for renewable energy, Satish Sharma, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, and more, visited Tawanai Ghar in Bemina on [insert date]. His aim? To explore innovative solar energy solutions for Jammu and Kashmir.

During this surprise visit, Sharma urged officials to prioritize solar energy adoption, aligning with the Chief Minister of J&K’s Mission Solar Energy. He believes that with dedicated efforts, the region can achieve self-reliance in renewable energy.

Why Solar Energy is Key for Jammu and Kashmir

“The government is dedicated to establishing Jammu and Kashmir as a leader in adopting renewable energy technologies,” Sharma stated. Solar energy holds immense potential in the region, and it is crucial to harness it effectively.

Plans for Expansion and Innovation

Sharma directed the Science and Technology Department to devise thorough proposals and implementation roadmaps for increased solar installations. This includes:

  • Expanding solar panels on government buildings.
  • Encouraging public institutions to adopt solar solutions.
  • Offering incentives for household-level solar energy usage.
  • Collaborating with research institutions and private stakeholders to develop cost-effective solutions.

Additionally, he emphasized completing ongoing renewable energy projects efficiently under various government schemes.

Employee Welfare and Support

Sharma also addressed employee grievances, assuring the department’s staff that their legitimate demands would be prioritized. “Employee welfare is directly linked with efficiency and productivity,” he noted, urging officials to create a supportive work environment.

In line with improving productivity, he instructed senior officers to resolve service-related issues promptly, fostering a culture of accountability and support.

Setting a Sustainable Path Forward

With a focus on sustainable growth, Sharma highlighted the necessity of adopting solar and other renewable energy sources. He explained how transitioning to these resources would not only minimize reliance on conventional power but also safeguard the fragile ecology of Jammu and Kashmir.

Sharma concluded by encouraging officials to approach their tasks with renewed zeal, stating, “We must turn the Chief Minister’s vision of a clean energy hub into a reality.” The Chief Executive Officer of JAKEDA, P.R. Dhar, along with other senior officers from the Science and Technology Department, joined the visit, reinforcing the government’s commitment towards innovative solar energy solutions for the region.
