Poshan Project in Jammu Holds Free Ayurvedic Health Camp 2025

To kick off the 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025, the Poshan Project Kot Bhalwal, in collaboration with the Ramakrishna Mission Medical Centre and the Government Ayurvedic Hospital in Jammu, held a special program on October 1, 2025. This event aimed to enhance community awareness about nutrition, addressing various health issues such as obesity and the importance of proper feeding practices for children.

This engaging program was inaugurated by Sh. Sher Singh, Additional District Development Commissioner of Jammu, along with Special Guest Swami Yajnadharananda Ji, Secretary of the Ramakrishna Mission, and Sh. Pankaj Anand, District Programme Officer for Mission POSHAN in Jammu.

Community Activities and Engagement

Numerous activities took place during the health camp, including expert speeches, a Swasth Balak Pratiyogita (a competition promoting children’s health), and rangoli making. Attendees also had access to nutrition awareness stalls, free health checkups, and the distribution of essential medicines.

Sh. Sher Singh stressed the vital role of proper nutrition, particularly for vulnerable groups such as children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers. He highlighted that the ongoing Rashtriya Poshan Maah serves as an important opportunity to raise awareness and involve the community in promoting better health outcomes.
