🔥 Ashutosh Sharma’s Magic Stuns LSG

Delhi Capitals pulled off a miraculous one-wicket win against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their IPL 2024 season opener, thanks to a breathtaking knock from Ashutosh Sharma.

🔹 DC were struggling at 7/3 in the second over before Ashutosh turned the game around.
🔹 Scored a sensational 66 off 31 balls* (5 sixes, 5 fours).
🔹 Hit the winning runs in the 19.3 over as Delhi chased down 210.

Even as wickets kept falling at the other end, Ashutosh remained calm, executing powerful bottom-handed strokes to guide his team home.

🌀 A Rollercoaster Chase

🚀 DC’s Top-Order Collapse: Lucknow’s bowlers rocked Delhi early with three wickets in the first two overs. The innings seemed more about survival than a serious chase.

Game-Changing Stand:

  • Ashutosh Sharma (66 off 31) & debutant Vipraj Nigam (39 off 15)* put together a stunning 55-run partnership in just 22 balls.
  • However, a strategic timeout halted their momentum, leading to Nigam’s dismissal immediately after.

😱 Final Over Drama:

  • DC needed six runs with one wicket left.
  • LSG skipper Rishabh Pant missed a stumping on the first ball, which could have won the game for LSG.
  • Ashutosh finished the job in style!

💥 LSG’s Innings – A Missed Opportunity

LSG posted 209/8 but were at least 30 runs short after squandering a solid start.

🔥 Top Performers:

  • Mitchell Marsh (72 off 38) – Blasted a 21-ball fifty with sixes raining all over the park.
  • Nicholas Pooran (75 off 30) – Cleared the ropes 7 times, playing a belligerent knock.
  • Kuldeep Yadav (2/20) & Mitchell Starc (3/42) – Triggered LSG’s collapse after they were cruising at 133/1 in the 12th over.
