Former Mumbai Captain and Selector Milind Rege Passes Away at 76

Milind Rege, the former captain of Mumbai and a respected figure in domestic cricket, passed away on Wednesday morning after suffering a heart attack. He was 76 years old, having celebrated his birthday just days before, on Sunday.

Rege had been admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai, where he was in the intensive care unit. He passed away around 6 am on Wednesday. He is survived by his wife and two sons.

Known for his remarkable resilience, Rege had suffered a heart attack at the age of 26, yet made a strong recovery and returned to the cricket field. His leadership skills were evident when he captained Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy, further cementing his legacy in Indian cricket.
