Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, Earth Sciences, and other key portfolios, engaged with 125 students from Jammu & Kashmir who were in Delhi as part of the Central Government’s Youth Exchange Programme. He urged them to take full advantage of the entrepreneurial, startup, and livelihood opportunities provided by the government.

Government Schemes for Empowerment
Dr. Singh highlighted several key government initiatives aimed at empowering youth, including StartUp India, PM Vishwakarma Yojana, and PM Mudra Yojana. These programs provide skill training, modern tools, and financial support, helping youth to become self-reliant and contribute to sustainable livelihoods.

Opportunities in Traditional Industries
The Minister encouraged the youth to explore their region’s cultural heritage industries, such as Pashmina weaving and wood carving. He emphasized how government schemes can provide financial incentives and improve their skill sets while preserving and promoting the region’s rich artisanal traditions.

Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana
Dr. Singh spoke about the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, which offers collateral-free loans up to Rs 20 lakh for aspiring entrepreneurs. This initiative removes financial barriers and empowers young individuals to start their own businesses, promoting economic growth in the region.

Svamitva Yojana for Land Ownership
The Minister introduced the Svamitva Yojana, which provides land ownership rights to individuals. He explained how this scheme could help resolve property disputes and act as financial backing for business ventures. He encouraged the youth to spread awareness of this initiative within their communities.

Technological Advancements in Kashmir’s Apple Industry
Dr. Singh applauded the technological advancements in Kashmir’s apple industry, which have helped double apple production and improve shelf life, expanding market reach. He urged young minds to embrace technological innovations in their respective fields to drive progress.

Exposure to Modern India’s Institutions
The Minister recommended that the students visit institutions such as the National Physical Laboratory and the Prime Ministers’ Museum. These places offer valuable exposure to scientific progress and governance evolution, demonstrating how heritage and development coexist in shaping India’s future.

Self-Awareness and Career Planning
In his concluding remarks, Dr. Singh stressed the importance of self-awareness and career planning. He advised the students to identify their strengths and align their aspirations with their career goals. The Minister reassured them that the government is committed to their growth and urged them to take full advantage of the available opportunities.

Call to Action for Youth
Dr. Singh concluded with an inspiring call to action, urging the youth to seize the opportunities available and use them to propel themselves toward success, contributing to the nation’s economic development and future progress.
