Govt to Use Artificial Intelligence to Tackle Cyber Fraud, Says Amit Shah

AI to Combat Mule Accounts

  • The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, announced that the government is planning to deploy Artificial Intelligence (AI) to identify ‘mule’ accounts that cyber fraudsters use to park swindled funds. This initiative is aimed at strengthening the country’s fight against cybercrime.

  • In a significant update, Shah revealed that 805 apps and 3,266 website links were blocked based on the recommendations of the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C).
  • More than 19 lakh mule accounts have been identified, and suspicious transactions worth Rs 2,038 crore have been prevented, showcasing the effectiveness of the government’s ongoing efforts.
