Smriti Mandhana, India’s top-order batter, has risen to second place in the ICC Women’s ODI Batting Rankings, following a phenomenal series against Ireland. Mandhana’s impressive performances saw her accumulate 738 points, narrowing the gap to South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt, who tops the rankings with 773 points.

Mandhana, the only Indian player in the top 10, showcased her stellar form in the series, scoring 135 runs in the third ODI, as well as 41 and 73 in the first two matches. Her consistent performances have now put her in a strong position to claim the coveted top spot.

Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu remains in third place with 733 points.

Jemimah Rodrigues Climbs to 17th, Harmanpreet Kaur Holds 15th Spot

In other rankings, Jemimah Rodrigues has jumped two places to 17th following her maiden ODI century in the second match against Ireland. Meanwhile, Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian captain who missed the Ireland series, remains in the 15th position.

Deepti Sharma Shines in Allrounder Rankings

In the allrounders’ rankings, Deepti Sharma has secured the sixth spot with 344 points. Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner, who had a standout Ashes series, claimed the top position in the allrounder rankings, overtaking South Africa’s Marizanne Kapp.

Gardner’s remarkable allround performance in the Ashes, where she scored a career-first ODI century (102 runs) and took 19-3 in a match-winning spell, helped Australia secure all three victories in the ODI series against England.

Gardner’s new career-high rating of 469 points in the allrounder rankings is 25 points ahead of Kapp. She also reached a career-best 648 points as a batter, breaking into the top 10 for the first time.

Deepti Sharma Advances in Bowling Rankings

In the bowling rankings, Deepti Sharma has moved up a spot to fourth with 680 points, while Sophie Ecclestone of England maintains her position at the top.

Conclusion

Mandhana’s continued excellence and the rise of several Indian players in the rankings underscore India’s growing presence in women’s cricket. With Deepti Sharma excelling as an allrounder and Jemimah Rodrigues on the rise, India is poised for further success in international cricket.
