Sukhnandan Choudhary’s Key Meeting with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha

Today, former Minister Sukhnandan Choudhary met with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to present a series of important demands aimed at improving local infrastructure and facilities. The discussion focused on the establishment of a B.P. Ed College, the effective utilization of the Girls Hostel building at Assarwan in Bhalwal, and the need for additional staff at the Sports Stadium in Marh to enhance sports activities and development in the region.


Dr. Sangra’s Advocacy for Gender Equality: A Focus on Global Frameworks and Regional Policies

In another notable engagement, Dr. Sangra expressed her gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor for his attention to global frameworks for achieving gender equality. During their meeting, she highlighted the importance of aligning regional policies with the United Nations’ Agenda 2030 and integrating international standards with local realities. Dr. Sangra shared insights from her participation in the Beijing +30 Regional Review held in November 2024 in Bangkok, where experts and stakeholders discussed the progress and challenges in advancing gender equality across Asia-Pacific.

The Lieutenant Governor praised Dr. Sangra’s efforts and reiterated the commitment of the Jammu and Kashmir administration to foster inclusive and gender-equitable development. The discussions also emphasized the importance of empowering marginalized women and addressing key issues faced by rural and border communities in the region.


Colonel (Retd) RK Sharma and Sandhya Gupta Address Welfare of Ex-Servicemen

In a separate meeting, Colonel (Retd) RK Sharma, decorated with prestigious military awards, along with Sandhya Gupta, Founder of Women Club Meri Pehchan, met with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. The duo presented various welfare issues concerning Ex-servicemen and Veer Naris (widows of fallen soldiers). They discussed strategies for better support and recognition of the sacrifices made by the defense personnel and their families.


Delegation Led by Tarun Uppal Puts Forth Youth Development Concerns

A delegation led by Tarun Uppal, Chairman of the Nirbhay Bharat Foundation, and representatives from the Guidance and Counselling Cell for Youth Development Gurha Slathia, also called on the Lieutenant Governor. The discussion centered around the development of youth-focused initiatives and programs designed to guide and empower young people in the region.


International Diplomacy: Krinal Shah Suri’s Visit

In another significant meeting, Krinal Shah Suri, Head of International Affairs at the United Nations Association in Poland and International Cooperation Manager for Asia and the Middle East at the Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Katowice, also called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. This engagement opened the door to discussions on international cooperation and partnerships aimed at advancing Jammu and Kashmir’s development goals, particularly in the fields of trade, industry, and education.
