Satish Sharma Discusses J&K Road and Transport Infrastructure with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari

Satish Sharma, Minister for FCS&CA, Transport, Youth Services & Sports, Information Technology, Science & Technology, ARI & Trainings, met Union Minister for Road, Transport, and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, in New Delhi to discuss the development of road and transport infrastructure in Jammu & Kashmir.

Focus on Connectivity:
Satish Sharma expressed gratitude to the Union Government for its continued support in enhancing the region’s development. Highlighting J&K’s mountainous terrain, he emphasized the critical need for robust road connectivity to unlock the potential of far-flung areas.

Key Requests:
The Minister submitted a memorandum detailing proposals for the construction and repair of several roads, highways, and bridges across J&K. Among the major requests were:

  • A dedicated corridor from Jammu Airport to Padamshri Padma Sachdev College for Women.
  • A grade elevator for K.C. Theatre BC Road to Mandal.
  • An elevated corridor from J.

Strategic Development:
The proposals aim to address pressing infrastructure challenges, improve transportation efficiency, and support regional economic growth. The Minister underscored the transformative impact such projects could have on enhancing accessibility and quality of life for residents.

Union Support: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari assured full cooperation and reiterated the Government of India’s commitment to fast-tracking infrastructure projects in Jammu & Kashmir. He noted the importance of modern road infrastructure in fostering economic development and integration.
