Tarun Chauhan, the General Secretary of the Udhampur Table Tennis Association (UTTA), recently met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at the Raj Bhawan in Jammu to discuss the development of sports in the region.

During the meeting, Chauhan raised several key issues related to the promotion of sports, particularly table tennis, in Udhampur. He emphasized the urgent need for a modern indoor sports hall to provide local athletes with better facilities for training and competition. Chauhan also highlighted the necessity of recruiting qualified coaches to help nurture talent and the requirement for modern sports equipment, including high-quality table tennis tables, to enhance the performance of players.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha gave a patient hearing to Chauhan’s concerns and assured him of prompt action on the matters raised. The LG expressed his commitment to improving sports infrastructure and fostering a culture of sports excellence in the region.

Chauhan thanked the Lieutenant Governor for his continued support and efforts to advance sports development in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in districts like Udhampur, where access to world-class sports facilities has been limited.

This meeting is seen as a step forward in improving the sporting ecosystem in Udhampur, which will provide better opportunities for young athletes to excel in their chosen sports.
